Thank you, Trevor. It felt like a time-impoverished labor carved into a quarter-pound of underbelly, as I posted it...But I needed to show up. It's Saturday. Something drove me on the verge of a lilt in the midst of these rhymes. I didn't enter Substack behaving this way. All self-deprecation or real failings aside, eyes like yours are an enviable prize. They make Substack a place where it's worth it to try.
I'm thrilled to see you, tru3, and agree with what you've read into Unspun Antipodes. I regularly think of the wise grip you took with the creative irons in your fire. It was a pivot, of sorts, regarding when to let an audience in on one's intentions with a project. Thanks for the wisdom, then, and the clairvoyance now.
Ha! Dense! That’s me. You are the most prolific poet on Substack by my radar. You and Ci Ci have a good thing going. The hunky persona and sense of humor make things seem pretty sunny on your side of the fence.
Drove isn’t the kindest noun. It was innocently introduced to my vocabulary by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans before the idea soured some years later after reading folks like Wilfred Trotter, Walter Lipmann, Edward Bernays, et al.
Great to see you back!
Thank you, James! I'm happy to be back. Let's see if I can keep something going.
What an opening line!

Ah, family sagas… chapters of mystery bound by blood and memory… epigenetic Morse code received silently and expressed as a matter of course.
Love the rhyme scheme. Reminds me of a limerick.
“There once was a clan from Nantucket…” 😁

Slay me! Utterly shrove me from the sleeves of my droves! I don’t know much, but I know I can’t write like that. Way too dense for my simple mind

I am a prolific purveyor of puerile 💩! Thanks for the compliment! I’m not done trying to comprehend this one!
Thank you for the restack, @Escape Artist Poetry !
Isn't it funny to work with language? Very presentable.
Thank you.
